Fire breaks out in Vagamon

India — A fire broke out at Kolahalamedu in Vagamon on Saturday, spreading panic among tourists. Forest department officials managed to put out the fire which started at 4.15 pm.

According to local people, the absence of fire breakers resulted in the fire spreading.

Usually, forest department would dig small trenches called fire breakers to prevent the spreading of fire. Here, the department had not dug fire breakers so far, said local people.
