Dak Lak province faces risk of forest fires

Viet Nam — The Forest Ranger Division in the highland province of Dak Lak fears that forests in the province were in immediate threat and highly susceptible to forest fires.

Dak Lak province has over 340,000 hectares of forests which are prone to bush fires and more than 300,000 hectares of natural wood in the Buon Don, Ea H’leo, Ea Sup and Lak districts seem threatened.

Many regions of the highland province have been warned of the high risk of forest fires. Districts Dak Ha, Ngoc Hoi, Dak To and Sa Thay of Dak Nong province, Kon Tum town in Kon Tum province, districts Duc Trong, Don Duong, Lam Ha, Lac Duong, Di Linh and Da Lat of Lam Dong province have been specifically warned of an imminent threat of forest fires.
