Australia — Bushfire fuel reduction is under way across NSW including in Hornsby, Gosford, Kulnura, Sutherland, Woronora, Thirlmere, Shoalhaven, Wollondilly and Penrith.
“At the moment the fire service is doing hazard reduction burning in a lot of different localities,” said a Rural Fire Service spokesman today.
“As a result there is a lot of smoke around Sydney. They are advising anyone who is distressed by the smoke to stay indoors and close their windows.”
