Two Riverside County sheriff’s deputies were injured Thursday afternoon rescuing a woman from a trailer during one of astring of lightning-sparked brush fires that burned in Southern California, officials said.

The injuries were minor and the woman was transported to a hospital as the blaze burned near Lake Elsinore, the Riverside County Fire Department said. The extent of the woman’s injuries had not been determined.

At least one structure was totally engulfed in flames. The fire was reported shortly after 4 p.m.

Multiple brush fires were reported in Riverside, San Diego and Los Angeles counties as temperatures climbed to above 100 in inland areas and thunderstorms barreled across the region, the National Weather Service said. The agency issued heat, flash flood and thunderstorm advisories in several areas across Southern California.
