USA — A 45-year-old Hudson man was injured this afternoon when a brush fire he lit flared up, burning his face, hands and knees.
The Hudson police and fire department arrived at 41 Ontario Drive at 3:08 p.m. and put out the fire. The man had possible second-degree burns on his face, hands and knees from the flare up and was taken by ambulance to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, according to police Sgt. Richard DiPersio.
DiPersio said the flare-up was caused by the improper use of an accelerant for a permitted brush fire. DiPersio said officials were investigating what substance was used in the fire.
