Wildfire threatens Kisama complex

India —  Another devastating wildfire in Southern Angami area that started today is reportedly threatening to consume Kisama – the official site of Hornbill Festival. The fire has reportedly consumed a considerably huge tract of forested area directly below the Kisama Heritage Complex below the National Highway and is slowly spreading upwards.
Following the outbreak of the fire, villagers rushed to the scene in an effort to douse the fire but the blaze continued to spread uncontrollably, sources said adding that a lone fire truck from the Fire Service had rushed to the area but was unable to reach the fire and had returned. During the time of filing this report, the forest fire continues to spread uncontrollably, threatening to spread to the Kisama complex.
