A Forest Fire Still Uncontrolled

Still a fire is uncontrolly burning in the forest of Kamle Chhahara of Jomsom Village Development Committee in Mustang district (a trans-Himalayan region). The fire has started 6 days ago and still uncontrolled. The fire has already destroyed 1500 hectares of the forest, said Mr. Yam Bahadur Thakali. It destroyed valuable medicines like Yarsagumba, Jatamasi, Nir Masi etc, repoted by the the Mustang Section of the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP). The fire seriously destructed the habitat of the wild-lives (e.g. Musk deer) of the areas. It has created to displace a dozen of houses, said Mr. Chandeshor Bastakoti. Nepal Army and local community people are trying to suppress the fire.
