Forest Fire Breaks out in NE China

China — A big forest fire broke out Thursday afternoon in Shenyang, capital of northeast China’s Liaoning Province, local forestry authorities said.

The fire occurred at about 3 p.m. near the Qipanshan tourist area. Nearly 1,000 firefighters have been sent to the site. The fire has not been put under control due to strong wind.

Details and the cause of the fire are unknown.
