HAVING broken fresh ground last year, Bushfire 2008 is set to put on an awesome bigger and better show.

Due to increased advertising budgets, bigger name acts and improved infrastructure the organisers of the festival are confident it will attract an estimated 10 000 people over the three-day event.

The main sponsor of the event MTN Swaziland pumped in a whopping E250 000 toward the Bush Fire Festival.

They presented the cheque yesterday during a media launch at House on Fire.

MTN Swaziland’s Acting Chief Marketing Manager Killy Dlamini said as the main sponsor, MTN is proud to be associated with a festival of this magnitude.

“Bush Fire is a first of its kind in Swaziland and with so many reputable international artists coming, we look forward to a great time.

To all the people who will be part of this, at MTN we can only say, GO enjoy,” Dlamini said.

Another sponsor of the event is Standard Bank who sponsored the annual event with E100 000.

The bank’s Sammy Dlamini said they were committed to making a real difference.

Other sponsors include Swaziland Beverages, NERCHA, PSI, Awesome Africa, Putumayo – World music label, FNB, Sun International, The Mountain Inn, Tums George Hotel, Swazi TV,Ngwenya Glass, Baz Bus, Sibuko Sesive, Fedics, Ligwalagwala FM, Swazi Candles, Chilli Pepper Consulting, Techsus, UNICEF, Swazi Milling, Gone Rural, Armstrong Artworks, Webster Print, Swazi Design, Malandela’s, Swazi Express, The Royal Villas, AGPF Construction, Swazi Trails, Realnet, Kamp Kwena, Multichoice, Carson Wheels, Lamps and Lights, among others.

The total number of sponsors is 50 and with such sponsorship the event will definitely be bigger and better than the first.

Meanwhile, tickets to the festival will be available from July 1 and the programme will be launched next Wednesday (25 June).

African Synergy will be bringing in 14 journalists from the African continent and two chefs from Senegal for th event.

House On Fire director Jiggs Thorne said their aim was to make the event the finest in the region by 2010.
