San Diego, California, USA — California Bank & Trust announced todaythat it is donating $100,000 to the United Way of San Diego County and anadditional $50,000 for local relief efforts to help victims of the San Diegowildfires. The bank also will be accepting donations to the United Way at all ofits branch offices statewide.
“We are saddened that the affects of the wildfires have devastated thelives of our friends and neighbors and left many of their homes and businessesin ruins,” said Tory Nixon, San Diego Region president. “As thelargest bank headquartered in San Diego, with 28 branches and over 500 employeesin the region, we are not just located in the community we serve, we are a partof it.”
“Although the fires are nearly out, we are left with their aftermath –and the enormous task of rebuilding our community,” added Nixon. “I amhopeful that this partnership between the United Way of San Diego and CaliforniaBank & Trust will help meet this daunting challenge. We intend to be aresource for our community and will be accepting donations on behalf of theUnited Way at all of our branches.”
In addition to the donations, the bank has put into place a program to assistqualified California Bank & Trust customers affected by the fires on acase-by-case basis.
