Amman (Petra), Members of the Lebanese community in Jordan expressed deep appreciation to His Majesty King Abdullah’s efforts to help Lebanese authorities put out wildfire.
Upon orders from King Abdullah two Jordanian planes arrived in Lebanon last Wednesday to help the country fight one of the worst waves of wildfires in years that raged across the country starting Tuesday, particularly in the Chouf forest mountains, southeast of Beirut.
The fires burned hundreds of trees and left at least 5000 acres charred in the country but there were no reported casualties.
“The Lebanese people were deeply touched by your valiant stand”, said members of the community in a cable to King Abdullah.
