Georgia — Georgian Ministry of Environment said that the involvement of a Russian fire-fighting plane and helicopter is no longer necessary to battle the largest forest fire to hit Georgia in the past 20 years.

The Russian Emergency Ministry expressed its readiness to send an Ilyushin-76 plane and Mi-26 helicopter to tackle the fire burning in the Adigeni district in southern Georgia.

Meanwhile, Russian news agencies reported that the Georgian Embassy has thanked the Russian Emergency Ministry for its readiness to provide assistance.
