Forest Fire Covers Lautoka in Smoke

FIJI — Lautoka City is covered in thick smoke this morning after a major forest fire started in Tavakubu last night.
Acting Town Clerk Shiva Rajan confirms that the fire is now spreading to other parts of the pine forest due to strongwinds.
Rajan advises people to be careful due to the thick smoke in the city.
Meanwhile Forest Manager, Peni Verebau who is at the scene said fire fighters of the Fiji Pine forest are now trying to control the smoke which has covered the Sugar City.
A similar forest fire is currently burning in Lautoka
